As an Engineering Manager, you will be managing the employees of the Engineering department and taking care of leading the department and realising long-term projects, in order to realise the projects according to schedule and agreements and to realise a well-functioning department. 

This is a freelancing project for a duration of 6 months.

Your new role

• Manage a team of 24 engineers (process, project, mechanical, automation, validation), covering a broad range of technical competencies.
• Ensure effective stakeholder management, particularly with the Head of Production, VP Quality and VP IT.
• Your role is to secure project execution according to budget, compliance and timeline.
• You are responsible for the allocation of your staff towards the project portfolio and identify needs for external hiring.
• Drive the personal and professional development of team members
• You are responsible for setting up a supply and demand model for staff and maintaining it across the year.
• You play a key role in evaluating opportunities for improvement.
• You are a key player in the business case, drafting and guiding/advising the organisation to make the best decisions in engineering strategy development and execution.
• Responsible for the assurance and promotion of expertise and appropriate competences of employees of the department
• Managing quality areas Process Validation, Cleaning Validation and Periodic ReQualification on top of the general field of process engineering

• Academically relevant training, knowledge of chemistry, pharmacy, biology and/or process technology.
• Be a registered freelancer within the Netherlands. 
• Experience in leading (large-scale) projects.
• Knowledge of management techniques and project management (PMI)
• Multi-year work experience in pharma and experience as a manager.
• Knowledge of GMP laws and regulations and relevant methodologies and procedures and organisational processes and specific Process Validation, Cleaning Validation, Routine Validation.
• Quality control of installations and validation.
• Human focus
• Strong analytical skills and decisive mindset.
• Interest in projects from A-Z (from Business case to operational closure)
