Are you an experienced Electrical Designer with a strong foundation in offshore platform and energy system design? Join our client’s expert engineering team and bring your knowledge to the forefront of offshore innovation and safety.
This role is part of our client’s Offshore & Energy division, a multidisciplinary engineering environment focused on delivering safe, reliable, and innovative solutions for complex offshore energy projects.
This role focuses on the detailed design of low voltage (LV) power distribution systems and supports the development of high-voltage (HV) substation and lighting layouts for complex offshore production platforms.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing comprehensive electrical design deliverables, including LV switchgear layouts, UPS systems, cable lists, single-line diagrams (SLDs), termination and hookup diagrams, and more. Proficiency in 3D modelling tools such as Navisworks and experience with Smart Plant instrumentation are vital in this role.
- Background in greenfield LV power distribution detailed design
- Proven experience with offshore platform design and HV substation projects
- Strong familiarity with LV systems: switchgear, UPS, LV distribution boards
- Skilled in preparing:
- Cable lists and routing plans
- SLDs and electrical block diagrams
- Earthing, lighting, and small power layouts
- Termination and mounting diagrams
- Hazardous area plans and MTOs
- Proficient in cable selection and calculation methods
- Experience with 3D modelling tools (e.g., Navisworks)
- Working knowledge of Smart Plant instrumentation
- Ability to coordinate across engineering disciplines and interface with clients
- Strong documentation and vendor communication skills
