Within the Technical Analysis department and a team of highly skilled experts you will find yourself researching and leading supporting analyses within DAF’s road towards zero emissions, driven by stringent CO2 regulations set for a cleaner future.

You will lead and support a team of experts in the development of new vehicle projects and Advanced Technology projects by means of full vehicle energy simulations. The main focus of the development is on improving the powertrain towards lower energy consumption by:

• Including and optimizing hybrid/electrification functionality and energy management controls

• Investigating alternative zero-emission powertrain concepts

• Investigating and optimizing conventional vehicles

Responsibilities

• Defining and managing simulation plans on Vehicle Energy & CO2 simulations;

• Building vehicle simulation models and performing simulations and analyses on fuel/energy consumption, CO2 emissions and driveability on vehicle and total DAF fleet level;

• Processing the analyses to conclusions and design recommendations including reporting on technical as well as management level;

• Aligning the Technical Analysis activities and deliverables with Vehicle Definition, Vehicle Testing and Vehicle Engineering departments and in global context with other PACCAR divisions;

• Maintaining the domain knowledge by following the new technologies in the field of fuel economy, CO2 emissions, alternative powertrains and thermodynamics;

• Improving the CAE capabilities by introducing and implementing new methods and tools at DAF and other PACCAR divisions;

As a Lead Engineer Energy & CO2 Simulations you will report to the Supervisor of the Technical Analysis department.

Job profile

To succeed as a Lead Engineer Vehicle Energy & CO2 Simulations, you should have the following skills and experience:

• Master degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Automotive/Aerospace Engineering, Applied Physics;

• At least 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the Automotive Industry;

• Proven experience in leading a team of technical experts;

• Proven affinity/experience with numerical simulations on powertrain, and energy management;

• Knowledge and experience with MATLAB / Simulink;

• Good analytic and organizing skills;

• Effective communication skills in the Dutch and English language;

• A customer oriented team player with a proactive and result driven workstyle;

Primaire arbeidsvoorwaarden

Het salaris is afhankelijk van jouw diploma(s) en werkervaring en conform de loonschalen van DAF/ CAO Metalektro.

Dit is het bruto bedrag berekend op basis van 36 uur per week. 

Daf kent een 37.5 urige werkweek waardoor jouw bruto inkomen ook hoger uitvalt dan de inschaling.

Het maximale jaarsalaris bestaat uit de volgende bruto componenten:

• - Bruto maandsalaris
• - 8,33% vakantiegeld berekend over jouw bruto salaris.



Contractvorm

• Minimaal een jaarcontract, waar we graag toewerken naar een onbepaalde tijdscontract

• Secundaire arbeidsvoorwaarden
• Pensioen Plus regeling
• Jaarlijks tot netto €3500,- opleidingsbudget (afhankelijk van je persoonlijk ontwikkelingsplan)
• Netto €750,- om jouw thuiswerkplek in te richten
• De mogelijkheid tot een bonus (elk kwartaal 4 tot 8%)
• 25 vakantiedagen per jaar o.b.v. 40 uur (36 uur naar rato)

Bedrijfsomschrijving

DepartmentThe Technical Analysis department consists of a team with 13 specialists, responsible for the numerical optimization, verification and validation of new vehicle designs within the DAF Product Development division. By means of simulations, new developments on vehicle and system level are evaluated and optimized for different vehicle performance aspects: Fuel Economy and CO2 emission, Aerodynamics, Thermodynamics, NVH, Vehicle Handling, Crash Safety, Durability. These simulations support the design process from the first concept ideas to the final validation and sign-off of the truck design.
