Our client is a leading biotechnology company, dedicated to delivering innovative biotechnological solutions on a daily basis. Their warehouse, located in Schiphol-Rijk, employs a team of 75 professionals. For them we are searching for an enthusiastic Health, Safety and Environment Officer (HSE) Officer.. As EHS Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall safety of warehouse personnel, equipment, environment and operating according to EHS guidelines. You will play a crucial role in identifying potential hazards, developing and implementing safety protocols and procedures, conducting safety training, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.
In this role you report to Center of Expertise Logistics Lead.
Your Key responsibilities are:
• Act as the owner of dangerous goods storage areas, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for the safe handling, storage, and transportation of hazardous materials.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive safety program tailored to the specific needs of the warehouse facility.
• Implement safety policies, standards, and procedures to minimize the risk of accidents, injuries, and property damage.
• Provide expert mentorship and advice to warehouse staff on safety matters, including safe handling of equipment, accurate use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and ergonomics.
• Coordinate and deliver safety training programs to educate employees
• Investigate accidents and incidents and provide recommendations for preventive measures.
• Develop and improve emergency response plans, including fire safety procedures, evacuation protocols, and first aid measures.
• Actively participate in projects, safety and environmental, GMPs and SOPs trainings. • Bachelor's degree (HBO) or equivalent in HSE or a related field (IVK, MVK, HVK)
• Experience in EHS, preferably in a fast-paced distribution environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify potential risks and develop effective preventive measures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees and partners at all levels.
• Proficient reading, writing and speaking in Dutch and English.. • You’ll be part of a global team in an innovative and international environment with room for personal and professional development.
• A salary between € 45.000,00 and maximum € 75.000,00
