The Project Procurement Engineer is responsible for managing the procurement process for projects, ensuring that materials, equipment, and services are according to budget, delivered on time, and meet the required quality standards. Collaborating with project managers, suppliers, and internal project teams, the role involves procurement of technical equipment, negotiating with suppliers, and maintaining supplier relations and supporting the project sales engineers with up to date pricing tools. The engineer also tracks vendor performance, resolves supply chain issues, and optimizes procurement planning. Good technical knowledge, communication, and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.

Function responsibilities:

Responsible for purchasing and timely delivery of goods for projects, service, the workshop, and after-sales.
Supplier evaluation and implementing improvement proposals.
Maintaining contact with suppliers and customers.
Informing the organization about price changes relevant to cost calculations.
Analyzing and improving procurement and logistics processes.
Acceptance of goods and passing them on to project teams. Aligning the purchasing process with other departments, such as warehouse, sales, and administration.
Preparing purchase orders through Exact.
Preparing purchase orders and approving invoices through an ERP system.
Coordinating DOA (Defective On Arrival), spare-part, and warranty shipments in consultation with logistics.

Role responsibilities:

Procuring selected instrumentation, equipment, components, and services according to specified order lists and requested delivery times.
Requesting quotations from suppliers and managing alternative purchasing channels.
Providing support and technical advice to the project team regarding procurement, for example, suggesting alternatives.
Informing the project about price and delivery time deviations.
Keeping the project informed about received goods.

Qualifications:

Experience in working in a procurement or supply chain environment roles within engineering or manufacturing environment.
Fluent Dutch and English (spoken and written)
Experience with procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
Familiarity with international sourcing and logistics.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
