You will mainly take care of the vehicle fleet and ensure that maintenance, inspections and repairs are carried out and you will keep accurate records in this regard. Furthermore, you are keen to learn and, as the right-hand man to the Workshop Manager, you will develop yourself to be able to take over his position in due course.

What will you do?

As Assistant Chief of Workshop, you will be the lynchpin of fleet management. You will have broad responsibilities, ranging from organising inspections, maintenance and repairs to managing the mechanics. You will also perform essential administrative tasks, such as scheduling repairs and servicing with external suppliers and managing stock by ordering parts and materials. Keeping accurate records relating to the fleet and keeping a diary for work carried out are also crucial aspects of this role.

Responsibilities:

• Coordination of fleet inspections, maintenance and repairs
• Managing mechanics in the workshop and ensuring optimal cooperation
• Perform administrative tasks, including planning and ordering parts
• Ensuring conclusive administration and keeping a diary for work performed and hours worked
• Seamless collaboration with the Workshop Chief and preparation for future takeover of his role

Job requirements:

• Demonstrable managerial experience, preferably in a technical environment
• Excellent planning and organisational skills
• Stress resistance and flexibility to deal with deadlines and changing circumstances
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
• Customer-oriented attitude and focus on delivering high-quality services to internal and external customers

Furthermore, you are in possession of:

• Diploma MTS Motor Vehicle Engineering or equivalent (through experience).
• VCA VOL diploma
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
