As Lead Electrical Engineer, you will work within our Electrical, Instrumentation & Process Control discipline. Within this department, we work on wonderful projects in the energy transition. As Lead Electrical Engineer, you will be the right-hand person to the department head and could potentially grow into a Specialist, Project Manager, or even Department Head. The team in your region, North-East, consists of around 35 people.

As Lead Electrical Engineer, your primary focus will be on designing and coordinating complex electrical designs. The projects you will be involved in are almost always multidisciplinary, which requires collaboration with other disciplines such as civil engineering, process engineering, and mechanical engineering.

Together with the project manager and lead engineers of other disciplines, you will coordinate the project and represent Bilfinger Engineering to our clients. Within the project team, you are responsible for the quality of the electrical installation design, including the budget allocated and the agreed-upon schedule. You will also be responsible for identifying scope changes.

You will have a good overview of the various engineering phases of the project and proactively share this with colleagues and clients. You will lead one or more electrical engineers in your projects.

You are capable of understanding the underlying question, enabling you to determine the correct project scope and estimate the necessary hours for it. You will have a clear vision of how the electrical installation should look at the start of a project and communicate this clearly to clients and colleagues.

You will provide technical and project guidance to juniors (starters, interns) in the department.

The electrical installations you work on can range from straightforward low-voltage installations to complex systems with large consumers of 20 MVA and a grid connection of 150 kV. In addition to energy distribution systems, the electrical design often includes lighting, grounding and lightning protection, tracing, communication systems, etc.

You will oversee technical descriptions and cost estimates. Advising the client and chain partners is also a key task.

You will have the freedom to work on challenging projects across various sectors in the industry. The ultimate goal is to achieve the desired result with the client, such as reducing emissions, energy savings, and safe installations.

• You have a completed education in Electrical Engineering or related fields.
• You have about 10 years of relevant work experience in engineering within challenging and complex multidisciplinary projects in the industry.
• You are familiar with current electrical engineering concepts and unit prices.
• Successfully delivering projects within the specified time and budget is one of your driving forces.
• Solution-oriented to resolve diverse issues.
• Besides your passion for technology, coordinating and delegating tasks comes naturally to you.
• You communicate easily with clients and colleagues, in both Dutch and English.
