Facility - EHS Officer Almere • Panda International

Together with a leading pharmaceutical company in Almere, we are looking for an experienced Facility Officer to join their team. This is a key position responsible for managing Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) on site, leading the Emergency Response (BHV) team, acting as Prevention Officer, and overseeing day-to-day facility operations.

You will play a central role in ensuring the workplace remains safe, compliant, and efficient in a highly regulated GMP environment.

1. Facility Management

• Oversee the daily operations of the facility, including maintenance, cleaning, repairs, and upkeep.

• Manage contracts and relationships with vendors and service providers (HVAC, cleaning, security, etc.).

• Ensure full compliance with Dutch regulations on environmental sustainability and workplace safety.

• Monitor and maintain critical systems (e.g. HVAC, lighting, waste disposal).

• Plan and manage the facility’s annual budget efficiently.

2. Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S)

• Implement and continuously improve EH&S programs in line with Dutch and international standards.

• Conduct regular audits, safety walks, and risk assessments.

• Investigate incidents and ensure timely resolution and reporting.

• Organize safety trainings and promote a strong safety culture across the site.

3. Emergency Response (BHV)

• Lead the BHV team (Bedrijfshulpverlening) and coordinate emergency response plans and drills.

• Ensure all team members are trained, prepared, and equipped to handle emergencies.

• Maintain up-to-date emergency protocols and evacuation procedures.

4. Prevention Officer Duties

• Act as the company’s certified Prevention Officer (or be eligible to become one).

• Identify workplace hazards and implement preventive measures.

• Liaise with Dutch authorities to maintain full legal compliance.

• Communicate safety risks and updates effectively to management.

Essential:

• Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, EH&S, or a related field.

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in facility or safety management.

• Strong knowledge of Dutch workplace health and safety regulations.

• Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken).

• BHV certification and/or valid Dutch Prevention Officer certificate (or willingness to obtain).

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred:

• Experience in GMP-regulated environments (pharma or food).

• VCA, OSHA, or other relevant safety certifications.

• Hands-on mentality, proactive, and able to prioritize in a dynamic setting.

• Proficiency with facility management systems/software.

• Calm under pressure, with excellent decision-making skills in emergencies.
