Functieomschrijving

Joining an ambitious and dynamic project, you will be part of the project team in Ghent as a Project manager for the Auxiliary Steelmaking scope. Your experience will be key in supporting the team in handling the delivery on time and within budget of this major project.

For the new Steelmaking process, besides the main process vessel, there are also a lot of other critical steelmaking equipment’s/assets necessary to produce excellent steel qualities, e.g. hot metal ladle burners, steel ladle burners, steel ladle transfer cars, off-gas treatment, hydraulic systems, etc.

Key tasks

 Responsible for the project management of the complete auxiliary steelmaking scope (>20M EUR) You collaborate closely with EPCM and permitting partners (reviewing schedules for deliverables, formulating civil scopes, enforcing D&E standardization). You ensure integration and validate brownfield adaptations as applicable. You conduct reviews and approvals for documents, drawings and request for change. You enable periodic internal reviews and coordination with stakeholders to address gaps and follow-through resolution. Proactively escalate any project governance issues that are creating a barrier to project delivery in a timely manner and make suggestions for how they might be brought back to plan. Drive continuous process improvements through the project lifecycle, by using lessons learnt and identifying opportunities. Analyse improvement areas identified via maturity assessment, evaluate use cases & prioritize and propose actions. You will support and report to the SMP project delivery lead of the projectFunctie-eisen

Technical skills

 Experience in working with EPCM or EPC companies Expertise in Project Management Goal oriented, results driven, takes initiative, leadership and attention to detail Effective communicator, with ability to deal ability to proactively deal with senior executives and stakeholders, persuading them to meet deadlines Proven people management skills

Job experience / other skills

 +5 or +15 years’ experience as a Project Manager in a similar role (we are looking for medior/senior profiles)Relevant experience in any of these domains is required: Process systems (oxygen, natural gas, …), Electro mechanical installations It’s a plus if you have Mining a Metal sector knowledge and professional certification in PMI or Prince2

Courses

 Master/Bachelor degree in engineering or equivalent professional technical education

Language skills

 Project language is English Knowledge of the Dutch language is a prerequisite

Others

 Main working place is in Ghent Regular travels to Spain or other European countries (Madrid, Bilbao)Arbeidsvoorwaarden
