This organization is a software service company focused on education. Among other things, their software is used for online learning and building digital portfolios, as well as testing and examinations. They work for Colleges and Universities but also exam institutions, publishers, and companies from all kinds of sectors (e.g. hospitals, or financial institutions). Every day, their team works on various SaaS solutions that contribute to education in the Netherlands in the broadest sense of the word. An example is their digital assessment software, this large-scale application is in use in almost all universities of the Netherlands and every year, over 4 million students use this software to obtain their diploma(s)! So, when you work here you have an impact on people’s development. They are therefore proud of their products and there are great plans and ambitions. Thanks to various acquisitions, other products and services have been added and the team totals over 90 colleagues. It is an informal organization, there is plenty of room for feedback and everyone is very collegial.

The team you will be joining currently consists of 6 developers and their overarching UX designer. Together, they are working on new features for the software, and refactoring the current codebase. Because they keep ownership of this software themselves, you are hardly ever involved in customization projects. Of course, they do listen to input from end-users and want to apply improvements to this, but they don’t go running from place to place to keep customers happy. Working together with the team, the product owner, and colleagues from other teams, as an experienced developer you will help to set out the technical lines. For example, to improve the architecture and further integrate new design patterns such as DDD. You will be working on an existing software product that is already being used on a very large scale (over 1,000,000 active users last year!).

• HBO working and thinking level (they don't look at papers, but at thinking level, motivation, and self-efficacy)
• You have a good command of both the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written
• Broad experience and knowledge of PHP, and writing good maintainable code
• You have extensive experience working with relational databases and can write efficient queries in a complex structure
• You are familiar with modern application design principles
• Thorough knowledge and experience in frameworks, preferably Symfony
• Experience in VueJS is a plus

• Salary indication € 4,500 to € 5,500 gross based on full-time employment, depending on knowledge and experience
