Maintenance Engineer

Job Purpose
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the integrity and reliability of production equipment. This is achieved by executing and documenting all maintenance activities—preventive, corrective, and troubleshooting—in compliance with GMP regulations and internal procedures. The goal is to maintain a safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the production equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute maintenance tasks both within and outside the GMP production area, with vendor support as needed.
• Perform corrective maintenance, including the resolution of first-line equipment failures.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and assist with the planning and execution of scheduled shutdowns.
• Carry out inspection-based maintenance using predefined protocols.
• Perform equipment calibration at specified intervals and ensure proper documentation.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality teams to prioritize tasks and address technical issues.
• Manage and monitor spare parts inventory for production equipment in alignment with the Maintenance/Reliability Engineer.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for equipment modifications and process optimization based on maintenance data (e.g., breakdowns, interruptions).
• Support equipment validation activities in accordance with defined protocols.
• Assist the Maintenance/Reliability Engineer in preparing maintenance interventions.
• Create, update, and review technical documentation such as work instructions, job plans, and HECPs.
• Provide technical training to operators when necessary.

Parameters

• Maintenance tasks are completed safely, on time, and correctly the first time.
• Equipment and technical areas remain clean and well-organized.
• Mean Time to Repair (MTTR)
• Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF)

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong safety awareness and ability to follow structured protocols and standards.
• Solid understanding of engineering principles, maintenance practices, and root cause analysis.
• Experience working with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Detail-oriented with the ability to consider both technical and end-user perspectives.

Education & Experience

• Minimum MBO-level education with 4–6 years of relevant experience in maintenance or facility engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in a GMP-regulated (preferably pharmaceutical or isotope manufacturing) environment.

Language Requirements

• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
