Are you ready to make a significant impact in the agritech-industry? Then this is the perfect opportunity for you. We are looking for someone with a passion for functional managing a range of specialized agricultural business applications, including PoultrySoft (planning software), Plukonnect (our own developed farmer portal), SmartWE (supplier management tool) and a to be developed ERP software. Whether you are a recent graduate or have a number of years of experience as a functional manager, if you see a challenge in this, we are looking for you!


Your role?

As a functional manager at Plukon Food Group, you will play a crucial role in the maintenance and continuous improvement of these software applications. Your primary responsibility is to ensure smooth daily operations, so that users can seamlessly utilize the software’s capabilities. This includes user management, providing second-line support for issues and bugs, problem management, collaboration with software vendors, developing user documentation and creating test scripts.

You will work directly with our Agriculture department, responsible for ensuring a sustainable supply of live poultry. You will thrive in an international environment that includes the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France and Poland. Although travel is encouraged to improve the collaboration, it is not mandatory for this role. Your duties will include:

  • driving the professionalization of functional application maintenance within Plukon Agri;

  • managing user access and permissions within the software systems;

  • managing alignment with key-users and first line support teams;

  • serving as the main point of contact for second line issue resolution related to applications used by Plukon Agri;

  • collaborating with third-line support teams to address more complex issues;

  • conducting initial analysis of issues and providing prompt short-term solutions to users, including effective workarounds;

  • liaising with product owners to identify and implement potential system changes;

  • creating comprehensive test scripts to ensure smooth implementation of system changes;

  • generating and maintaining user-friendly application documentation and support materials.

Plukon has been an innovative producer of food in Europe since 1894. Our assortment varies from meal components to ready-made meals, including salads. The ingredients for this are poultry (our basis), but increasingly also vegetables and alternative proteins. In this way, we serve meat lovers, flexitarians and vegetarians. Within Plukon, you will work specifically in the Agri business department. In the Plukon Agri department we play an important role in the supply of live poultry that are processed into high-quality poultry products. Plukon Agri focuses on processes of the entire supply chain, from genetics to the Plukon processing locations themselves, including the intermediaries such as breeding companies, hatcheries, animal feed companies and poultry transport. Plukon Agri plans, executes and administers the transactions and safeguards the European and national quality legislations. Herein we focus on Animal welfare, food safety and ensuring durable processes.


Who are we looking for?

Job requirements:

  • experience: 0-5 years of experience in functional management, starters are welcome but preferable some years of experience;

  • agri/food background is a plus;

  • location: Must be based in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium or France;

  • languages: Proficiency in English is essential, along with at least one of the following languages: Dutch, German, French, or Polish;

  • education: A completed HBO or university degree, preferably in a relevant field such as information management or business administration.

Competencies: 

  • service-oriented and problem-solving mindset: You excel at supporting users, resolving issues that arise, and coordinating quick and effective solutions;

  • empathy: You have the ability to make people feel at ease even in stressful situations, as issues can often interfere with daily operations;

  • analytical thinking: You understand business processes, operating procedures, and application functions, allowing you to address and resolve issues even when details are lacking;

  • precision: You ask relevant questions to clarify the full scope of an issue, ensuring nothing is left unresolved;

  • perseverance: You possess a determined attitude and won’t rest until a problem is fully resolved;

  • bridging IT and business: You excel at successfully communicating with both IT developers and business stakeholders, acting as a bridge between the two.
