The Global Trade & Customs Excellence (GTE) team is responsible for Trade Compliance activities within the Global Distribution function. This role is part of the Center of Excellence and is responsible for integrating policy, strategy, process improvement and project management related to the Trade Compliance scope. The role will support activities for imports and exports across the entire organization. The Center of Excellence is providing program oversight for established Trade Compliance controls and global standards.

Responsibilities

• Ability to manage import and export activities, ensuring compliance with the Trade Compliance policies as well as relevant customs and trade sanctions regulations.
• Provide Trade Compliance guidance and support to key stakeholders.
• Establish and update Trade Compliance standards, policies, processes and procedures.
• Act as escalation point of contact, to support operational trade activities within the Global Trade & Customs Excellence team.
• Monitor, analyze and interpret government regulations related to customs and export control.
• Support customs-related audits and inspections.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support corporate planning initiatives and provide Trade Compliance support.
• Manage export control and support obtaining applicable export permits and licenses.
• Interact with customs and third parties to resolve customs issues and delays.
• Collect and report on key transactional performance metrics.
• Oversee and manage outsourced brokerage services.
• Awareness of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) and similar authorizations and certifications.

Basic Qualifications

• Master’s degree and 4 years of Trade Compliance experience OR
• Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Trade Compliance experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in EU Customs related procedures
• Understanding of International Customs and World Trade Organization Regulations

• Versed in key customs processes including valuation, commodity classification, and country of origin determination.
• Experience in EU customs procedures and other complex customs matters.
• Ability to build working relationships and effectively partner cross-functionally and cross-regionally and at all levels in the organization.

• Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to leverage relationships with industry peers for benchmarking and sharing best practices.

• Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Knowledge and understanding of GMP regulations and GDP requirements.
• Experience or education in international trade law.
