Your workday starts at 06:00 AM. In the morning, you and your colleagues gather for a team briefing. During this briefing, the planning for the day is discussed, including the expected end time (between 10:00 and 13:00), areas for improvement, and safety instructions. After this short meeting, your workday officially begins.

You pick up your terminal and get on your electric tug (tractor). Then you receive your first order. You scan the container holding the flowers or plants. Next, you attach the container to your tug and follow the instructions provided via your terminal or headset.

On the plants department, you work using a terminal, while in the flowers department, you use a headset to receive your orders.

Your task is to transport the flowers and plants on your cart to the correct locations within the auction warehouse. Once you reach the destination, you neatly place the cart in the right spot and scan the barcode on the floor. Then, you check whether the number of flower or plant pots matches the order. All good? Then it’s time for your first break of the day, a chance to catch up with your colleagues.

At the end of your shift, your workday is done. You clock out with your employee pass and leave with a sense of accomplishment.

Your responsibilities include:

• Collecting and moving carts to the correct location

• Scanning floor barcodes to accurately register order movements

• Verifying that the quantities of flower or plant pots match the order

Before you start, you will receive two paid training days during which we’ll explain the entire logistics process. You’ll be working on weekdays and always have weekends off. You can choose to work 3 to 5 days per week whichever suits your schedule best. The minimum requirement is 3 days per week. If you work 5 days, you’ll work between 20 and 25 hours per week.

Royal FloraHolland has been connecting flower growers and buyers for over 100 years and is the largest flower auction in the world. We operate at three locations: Naaldwijk, Rijnsburg, and Aalsmeer. This vacancy specifically applies to the position in Aalsmeer.

Actief Werkt! has an office located directly at the flower auction, right next to the work floor. This makes it easy for you to drop by for a chat or if you have any questions. We’re available Monday through Friday to support you whenever you need us!

• Starting salary of €16.04 gross per hour, or an all-in salary of €17.73 gross per hour

• Travel allowance of €0.23 per kilometer for a one-way commute of more than 5 km

• Full reimbursement of your public transport subscription if you work more than 4 days per week
