The Company
This renowned company produces a wide range of dairy-based products, specializing in diverse products from milk, cheese, and butter to nutritional products. With many facilities across the world, they play a big part in the overall dairy industry.
Role Description
In this interim role, you are responsible for planning the production of packaged cheese at external co-packers, using SAP APO to align sales forecasts, inventory levels, and packing capacity. You ensure optimal product availability while clearly communicating with production sites and commercial teams to balance efficiency and market needs.
Responsibilities
-Develop and manage production plans for packaged cheese at third-party co-packers.
-Balance sales forecasts, current stock levels, and external packaging capacities to create feasible and efficient production schedules.
-Utilize the SAP APO planning tool for planning and optimization purposes (MPO knowledge is a plus).
-Monitor and aim to improve KPIs such as service levels, stock levels, and obsolete inventory.
-Act as the link between production sites and international sales teams—clearly communicate planning possibilities and limitations.
-Independently manage your assigned portfolio of products, ensuring availability and efficiency.
-Work closely with internal teams (sales, distribution, fellow planners) and external co-packers to ensure alignment and problem-solving.
-Challenge production locations when needed and seek efficiencies in supply planning processes.
-Handle planning disruptions or capacity issues with flexibility and a solution-oriented approach.
-Maintain accurate and timely planning data in the system; produce regular reports on inventory and service levels.
Requirements
- A completed Bachelor (HBO) or Master (WO) degree, preferably in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, or a related field.
- Supply planning experience in the food or FMCG industry. Experience with SAP APO is a plus.
- Good understanding of supply planning processes.
- Proactive, accurate, decisive, flexible, stress-resistant, and a team player with strong communication skills.
