Are you a technically driven professional with a strong foundation in mechanical systems? We are seeking a skilled and proactive Technical Expert to support and optimize the performance of ship propulsion systems, gearboxes or other key supporting components for a leading company in the offshore industry. As a Mechanical Technical Expert, you’ll be responsible for supporting all aspects of maintenance, troubleshooting and improvements for the systems on vessels. You’ll work alongside a multidisciplinary team to solve technical challenges, develop maintenance strategies and support engineering projects across various systems.

Specific duties in this role include:

• Act as the main point of contact for suppliers and repair facilities within your specialty area (Gearboxes, Propulsion, or other systems).
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies that improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
• Conduct root cause analyses and support troubleshooting of mechanical failures.
• Contribute to engineering and innovation projects aimed at sustainability and system optimization.
• Collaborate with suppliers, classification societies, and internal teams to ensure technical compliance and best practices.

• Engineering degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in a technical engineering role.
• Proactive, communicative, and collaborative attitude.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Willingness to work in the office (80% of the time) and on-site during project execution phases.
• Flexible to relocate to Belgium.
