Job description
YACHT Engineering has a new role at GKN Fokker Aerospace BV for a Manufacturing Engineer - Product and Planning.

About the Role
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to expand the Product & Planning team at Fokker Landing Gear, located in Papendrecht.
This isn't just any engineering role; you'll be at the heart of ensuring the flawless production of critical landing gear components, directly contributing to the safety of every flight. If you're passionate about precision, efficiency, and making a tangible impact, this is your chance to shine.

As a key member of our Integrated Product Team (IPT), you'll be instrumental in keeping production running smoothly and continuously improving our processes.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing technical solutions to complex problems, always exemplifying a safety-first mindset and ensuring full compliance with GKN Aerospace Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and standards.
• Providing critical technical support for manufacturing development and integration into production.
• Tackling issues related to vendor schedules and quality, ensuring a seamless supply chain.
• Utilizing root cause analysis, preventative, and corrective actions to significantly reduce and eliminate non-conformances.
• Managing the implementation of tooling and/or production planning from original concept through to production. You'll design these processes with a high degree of process capability, leveraging the GKN standard Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) tool suite to demonstrate their effectiveness.
• Overseeing product development, first article development, configuration changes, and the definition and implementation of build processes.
• Delivering Measurable Results: Drive measurable, metrics-driven results that align perfectly with operational and program goals.

Besides that:

• Maintaining positive, collaborative team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers.
• Continuously enhancing production processes by actively implementing Lean initiatives.

What We're Looking For:

Job requirements
•    Experience in managing (new) Product / Process introduction (industrialization) & existing production process improvements
•    7+ years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering 
•    Degree in a related Engineering discipline, such as Aerospace, Mechanical, Automotive
•    Working knowledge of LEAN processes and practices
•    Working knowledge of quality system models such as ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000.
•    Quality driven and strong documentation / reporting skills
•    Working knowledge of machining processes (milling, mill-turn, boring, honing) and of surface treatment processes (heat treatment, plating, shot-peen, NDI) would be an advantage
 

Terms of employment
•    We offer you a challenging position in an innovative and international environment with a rich history in aircraft manufacturing
•    It concerns a secondment agreement at GKN Fokker Aerospace BV via Yacht for 1 year, with possibility of extension and a permanent contract at the company after the first year.
•    We offer a competitive salary, between €4.800 and 6.000,- gross per month based on 40 h per week.

Full-time (40 h p/w preferred; 32-36 h p/w is discussible)
Start date: ASAP
