As a Technical Writer, you play a vital role in creating clear and accurate documentation that enables international customers to operate and maintain complex high-tech machines safely and effectively. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating closely with engineers and documentation specialists to develop high-quality user manuals.
With your technical insight, you analyze machine functionalities to determine what information is required. You’ll reuse existing content where possible and create new text using a minimalist writing style. You’ll also work with technical illustrators to ensure an optimal balance between visuals and text.

• Determining the necessary content for manuals for new machines or machine upgrades (retrofits);
• Identifying customer-specific components and describing them clearly;
• Creating or editing visual content for manuals (in collaboration with illustrators for more complex graphics);
• Writing concise, task-focused content based on minimalist principles;
• Assembling full documentation packages, including appendices and technical drawings;
• Maintaining your own project administration;
• Actively participating in knowledge-sharing sessions with other writers and engineers.

You are proactive, precise, and capable of independently managing your documentation tasks. Communication comes naturally to you, and you know how to collaborate effectively with engineers, writers, and illustrators. You bring the following:

• A completed technical MBO (level 4) or bachelor’s degree (e.g., mechanical engineering, mechatronics);
• Preferably some experience in a similar role;
• Strong written English skills;
• Technical insight and the ability to interpret mechanical designs;
• Experience with documentation tools such as Author-it or Pro.File is a plus;
• Familiarity with Simplified Technical English (STE) is an advantage;
• Availability of at least 32 hours per week;
• A detail-oriented mindset and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
