Lead the strategic transformation towards Operational Excellence

Leading site management role for an ambitious Plant Manager overseeing 2 private-label consumer goods manufacturing sites. Develop & implement a strategic plan while fostering a Continuous Improvement culture to enhance Overall Equipment Efficiency.


In this position you will be part of the Dutch branche of a major European consumer goods manufacturer, specialising in the private label and brand business. You will oversee plant operations of two sites (active 24/7) with appr. 180 employees. Your primary objectives include significantly improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness and reducing scrap costs through the cultivation of a World Class Manufacturing culture. 

Core tasks and responsibilities:

  • Optimizing the performance and quality of production and the organization in general while ensuring cost-efficient products and on-time delivery to customers.
  • Implementing a World Class Manufacturing culture and cultivating a continuous improvement and SHEQ culture throughout the organisation. Lead initiatives such as benchmarking and sharing best practices.
  • Leading operations utilizing data-driven decision-making and performance metrics.
  • Leading the operational team, enhancing capabilities through targeted training and development.
  • For the longer term, develop a site strategy with clearly defined expectations to establish a mature organization that ensures both quality and flexibility.
  • Achieving consistent financial performance with a focus on profitability and cost management.
  • Reports to Managing Director NL. 

Our client is looking for an experienced operational leader in manufacturing environments, with a strategic mind, with the ability to formulate a longer-term site strategy. You are a proactive change agent who works closely with the team to support them in the transformation toward Operational Excellence. You set the right example, bring people on board, and establish structure and stability to the team.

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or similar. Advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in operational management positions.
  • Specialized training in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or similar is a plus.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and Integrated Work System (IWS) principles.
  • In-depth technical expertise with manufacturing machinery/equipment.
  • Proficiency in utilizing data-driven decision-making and performance metrics (e.g., OEE, SPC).
  • Fluent Dutch and English (written and spoken). German is a plus.
