Welcome to our team

Facilities Management in Haarlem manages the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and technical installations, including HVAC systems, compressed air, vacuum systems, drinking water/purified water, sewage, and electrical systems. Soft services such as catering, cleaning, security, waste management, and pest control are also within our scope. We continuously improve services and operational reliability in partnership with our external service provider. Additionally, we develop and implement sustainability and energy reduction programs, ensuring compliance with government and corporate requirements.

The Role

As the Associate Director Projects, you will lead a team (8 direct reports) of project managers, Commissioning & Qualification specialists, and a CAPEX controller. Your responsibilities include optimizing partnerships with external project management and engineering firms, ensuring project alignment with strategic goals, and reporting to the Director of Facility Management and Engineering. In this role, you will manage an annual CAPEX budget of 20-25 million euros and play a crucial role in enhancing our site capital project management and governance model.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Delivery: Ensure all projects are executed safely, on time, and within budget.

• Team Management: Lead and manage a high-performance team.

• Partnership Development: Optimize partnerships with external firms and contractors.

• Stakeholder Management: Engage and align with stakeholders.

• Governance Optimization: Improve the project management and governance model.

• Long Range Capital Planning: Develop and implement a strategic capital plan.

• Asset Handover: Ensure smooth transitions of assets to operations, maintaining safety and quality standards.

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

• Extensive experience in project management within a strongly regulated environment.

• Proficiency in Dutch preferred, with strong English language skills.

• Proven leadership skills with a focus on performance management, change management, and continuous improvement.

• Demonstrated potential for a director role, with a leadership skills assessment as part of the selection process.
