As a DevOps Engineer in the Data Capabilities team, you will collaborate with business analysts to understand and address the data processing needs of our product teams. You'll identify opportunities for optimization and automation, ensuring robustness and scalability of data processes. Your role will also involve ensuring adherence to architectural principles, governance policies, and best practices, maintaining high standards for data quality, security, and compliance. Your proactive approach will help our data teams deliver high-quality solutions efficiently and effectively.

As part of the Data Capabilities team, we design, build, and maintain solutions that enable data product teams to work in a controlled and efficient manner with the data on our data platform. With the volume of data and the number of use cases on our platform continuing to expand, the opportunities for automation and standardization in data management, governance, and processing are growing exponentially. It is our responsibility to introduce and govern best practices, streamline processes around data usage, and provide technical solutions to reduce the time to market for data solutions.

• Location: Amsterdam, open to travel to Heerlen if necessary, but in good consulting.

For this role, the team is looking for someone with senior-level cloud and software engineering skills, as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills. Here's what we're looking for:

• Educational: Bachelor's degree (preferably a Master's) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field;
• Experience: At least five years of demonstrated experience working with data, as a (software) engineer;
• Programming Skills: Proficiency in C#, .Net. Interest in Python, PySpark, and Databricks. Familiarity with SOLID principles and behavior-driven design and test automation;
• Technical Knowledge: Experience with DevOps practices and Azure or other cloud platforms, as well as proficiency in using both SQL and NoSQL databases;
• Communication: Highly developed communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Great interpersonal skills;
• Teamwork and Leadership: Self-motivated, well-organized team player with the ability to coach junior developers and contribute to a high-performing team;
• Agile Methodology: Experience working in an (SAFe) Agile environment;
• Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly grasp complex problems and pick up new frameworks and tools;
• Interest in Financial Markets: Clear interest in financial markets and the responsible investment domain;
• Financial Data: Experience working with financial data, (semi) structured and unstructured data.

Working conditions: This job role offers a balanced split between operational (run) and project (build) work, with a distribution of 75% operational and 25% project-related tasks. To minimize the impact on business operations, some changes may be scheduled outside of regular business hours.
