Position overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented GL Accountant to join our Finance team and play a critical role in shaping the accounting operations for the EMEA region. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, EMEA, this position will serve as a subject matter expert in key accounting areas, including estimates, regulatory compliance, revenue recognition, and financial consolidation. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious professional to contribute to a rapidly growing organization, enhance financial processes, and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

General Ledger & Closing Activities:
• Prepare and record journal entries under the supervision of the Senior Accountant and Accounting Manager.
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end and quarter-end close activities.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure compliance with accounting policies.

Financial & Regulatory Compliance:
• Assist with the preparation and review of VAT reports and ensure compliance with local regulations.
• Support financial and regulatory audits by gathering and organizing required documentation.

Process Optimization & Systems Integration:
• Work with ERP systems to analyze and reconcile large datasets from multiple sources.
• Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and internal controls.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Ad Hoc Projects:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including FP&A and Tax, to ensure financial accuracy.
• Participate in ad hoc projects to improve reporting efficiency and support business growth.

Qualifications & Skills

Educational Background:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.

Professional Experience:
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in accounting, preferably within FMCG, Manufacturing, Retail, Fashion & Apparel, or fast-growing startups.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems.

Technical & Soft Skills:
• Strong understanding of US GAAP, internal controls, and accounting processes.• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze large volumes of data effectively.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.•
• Ability to communicate complex financial information concisely, explaining the "why" behind the numbers.
• Adaptable mindset with a “get-it-done” attitude in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Languages:
Fluent in English (additional European languages are a plus).
