About the team
The Naval Industry team is responsible and accountable for the on-time production and delivery of the Thales Naval products within in cost and first-time right. To realize this the Naval Industry team is strongly and closely cooperating with the other departments (e.g. Engineering, Procurement, Product Segments) within Thales Naval. As Thales Naval we foster a strong growth in demand to our products and to secure this growth the Industry organization will be become production line oriented to support the serial production. 

For that reason, we are looking for a Production line manager Projects / small series (APRU Manager)

About your future job
As Production line (Autonomous Production and/or Repair Unit) Manager you will focus on the execution, your team and continuous improvements within the assigned production line. You are responsible for the performance in terms of quality, cost and on time delivery all in accordance with the proper application of the professional standards, safety and HSE standards. In addition, you are in charge of managing and coordinating the staff within your area of responsibility.

With your strong production management skills and experience you will lead and coach your team to secure a safe working environment with a strong focus on safety, customer satisfaction and value creation through continuous improvement of delivery performance, performing all direct value-added activities and supplies products to the projects.

This position will be the key-driver to transform the production line within Industry to a serial production environment which will be competitive, reliable & predictable and agile, driven by close collaboration with internal and external partners to reach maximum customer satisfaction and goals.

In this position you will report to the Industry Manager Products. (Pending the Request for Advice)

The main tasks and responsibilities are:

  • Ensure the safety of the employees in and around the production line
  • Manage the operational and financial performance of the production line
  • Manage the workload/capacity balance and human resources with a view to overall efficiency and employee well-being through daily management and appropriate communication.
  • Optimize production and investigative WIP by taking steps to improve productivity and reduce rework.
  • Implement and live the lean transformation approach and continuous improvement (e.g. CLPF, Gemba’s, Dojo’s, Andon & kaizen)
  • Coach, develop and adapt the skills of your team.

Why you'd be a good match

  • Completed a Bachelor or Master;
  • Several years of experience as production manager, preferable in an assembly environment;
  • Proven track record of continuous improvement and use of management tools;   
  • Pro-active, accurate and solution oriented;
  • Soft/interpersonal skills and ability to coach;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Dutch and English mandatory;
  • Certification APICS CPIM is nice to have
