About the CMS department

You will work within the CMS department consisting of around 300 people. We make a hardware and software solution called the TACTICOS Combat Management System. TACTICOS can be considered the brain onboard naval vessels, ranging from frigates, destroyers and small patrol crafts. The information from sensors (radar, sonar for example) is collected within TACTICOS, which then provides an overview of all that’s happening around the ship allowing operators to get a good situational awareness and to respond as needed with connected effectors (weapons or electronic counter measures for example). Missions on board these vessels range from humanitarian assistance during earthquakes, combatting piracy and drug smuggling, military engagements and more. TACTICOS technology is used on board more than 160 ships operated by 25 navies worldwide.

About the assignment

Your will have the role of conceiving and implementing a live video rendering of our combat simulation engine.

Description of the assignment

You project will, in term, be used for our trainings in our simulated world within our combat management system. The generated video will render the point of view of a boat in various military scenarios. You will have to design informative overlay, using different videos and sensors feeds provided by the simulation. You will also have the opportunity of taking onto the tasks of a software engineer by writing integrations tests and documentations, and deploying your work through continuous integration. Additionally, you will have access to our simulated machine, allowing you to try your project in real world conditions.
