As a Chapter Lead, you will split your time between technical contributions and team leadership. You’ll play a key role in evolving our private cloud Big Data services while coaching engineers and fostering best practices across squads. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining strategic thinking with deep technical engagement.

Your Responsibilities as Chapter Lead (60%)

Lead, coach and support a chapter of Big Data Cloud engineers
Facilitate a safe, inclusive, and performance-driven team culture
Conduct regular 1:1s, development talks, and performance reviews
Support learning & development initiatives across the chapter
Collaborate with cross-functional squads on delivery and planning
Organize and lead internal knowledge-sharing sessions and tech events
Actively participate in hiring, onboarding, and team scaling efforts
Act as a liaison between the chapter and wider engineering/product teams

Your Responsibilities as Engineer (40%)

Contribute to the development and automation of the Big Data platform using Ansible
Maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps)
Troubleshoot platform issues, bugs, and vulnerabilities
Improve the scalability, security, and reliability of existing services
Work with technologies such as Apache Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and Knox
Help define and implement a transition towards managed cloud services

We’re looking for a balanced leader: technically skilled, empathetic, and proactive. You enjoy helping others grow and improving systems at the same time.

Your Background

Minimum 3 years of experience in an enterprise IT or cloud environment
Proven experience in mentoring, coaching, or leading technical teams
Hands-on experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, etc.)
Solid skills in Ansible and CI/CD pipeline development (preferably Azure DevOps)
Good knowledge of Linux administration and automation (preferably RHEL)
Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset
Completed technical Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Nice-to-haves

Experience with Cloudera distributions
Familiarity with platform security, patching and monitoring
