Description of assignment

The assignment is to design and implement a continuous auditing system which Vanderlande Internal Audit will use for developing the annual internal audit plan and/or support internal audit engagements. The system should be able to automatically extract internal and external data from multiple sources, cleanse and manipulate them, analyze them against various rule sets, and visualize the output. Example analyses are duplicate payments, excessive access to systems, insufficiently authorized purchases, unapproved large manual journal entries, etc.

Internal Audit reportsinto the Vanderlande Audit Committee. It providesassuranceto the Vanderlande Board byperforminginternal audits acrossallareas of the organization. Purpose of the internal audits is toverifythat business processes are set up in a way thatensuresreliable financial reportingandpreventsfraudanderrorsfrom happening.
