• Participate in R&D activities focused on next-generation battery concepts, with an emphasis on scaling up to pilot production.
• Contribute hands-on to the design and realization of pilot production facilities, collaborating with technical partners.
• Assist in selecting locations, building auxiliaries, and production equipment, ensuring safety standards are met.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships for pilot production operations.
• Initiate and lead pilot production runs based on both internal developments and external components.
• Deliver battery cells that meet pre-agreed performance parameters, with opportunities for further optimization.
• Communicate manufacturing reports from pilot production runs to stakeholders.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary, multi-company team.

• PhD in Physics or a related field, with a focus on battery technology.
• 3-5 years of experience in a pilot production setting, particularly in Li-ion battery technology. Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: battery cell assembly, electrochemical testing, thin film deposition technologies, wet/dry electrode preparation.
• Pro-active and critical mindset, with a clear goal-oriented approach.
• Hands-on ability to efficiently organize and execute practical work.
• Strong multi-stakeholder management skills in a complex innovation environment, recognizing and aligning common interests between commercial and public stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
