We are looking for a Project Buyer

As Project Buyer you are responsible for the purchasing of direct equipment like control valves, flow devices, shut-off valves, steam silencers, instrumentation etcetera’s as well as indirect goods and services, and for the coordination and guidance of procurement work done within different projects. You work in a small and flexible procurement team and in close cooperation with project team members.

The role contains, among others, following tasks:

• Send out requests for quotations, evaluation of offers, negotiations and closing of contracts within the set targets;
• Signals bottlenecks in the project execution and anticipates them;
• Negotiate claim settlements;
• Communicates with the department management and all parties that are interested in the realization of the project;
• Work closely together with the coordinator who is responsible for the purchase order in execution;
• Monitoring of supplier performance and initiating improvement actions;
• Perform standard administrative activities and provide information/data produced from these activities to the parties concerned.

We are looking for a hands-on and buyer with higher professional education, preferably with a technical background and NEVI 1. You have moderate years relevant experience in technical markets and project organizations. You have a good commercial sense and a clear affinity with and knowledge of legal and financial aspects of purchasing.

You are a team player and able to communicate and cooperate with different disciplines like engineering, strategic procurement, quality control and project management and have a good working knowledge of the English and Dutch language, both written as well as verbal.

Your communication skills are excellent and you are able to work independently. Considering that we work in a project organization, it is essential that your work is transparent for your colleagues and that you carefully align your work with the department / project execution teams. We have multiple projects / activities running in parallel, so you should be able to handle time pressure, act quickly, maintain the overview and structure, and set correct priorities
