Senior Employee Relations Manager - Verisure NL
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Employee Relations Manager to join our HR team in the Netherlands to report directly to the HR Director and be an important and integral part of our HR leadership team.
This position is a unique opportunity to influence the development of our fast growing business, touching a wide range of employement related topics, policies, processes, support to works council, employment cases and new Labour regulation implementation in all areas, making it an incredibly dynamic and rewarding position for an ambitious employment professional. The Senior Employee Relations Manager will also closely collaborate with the rest of the HR functions, both at Group, Cluster and other countries level, to further develop and shape a world-class organization that aligns with our Company's strategy and DNA.
As a Senior Employee Relations Manager, you will provide, with a pragmatic approach, labor support across all areas of our business, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks while supporting our ambitious growth plans.

Senior Employee Relations Manager
We are seeking a dynamic, experienced Senior Employee Relations Manager to manage Employee Relations (ER) by joining our HR leadership team. This senior-level role requires an individual with a strong understanding of employment law, strategic ER management, and a track record of providing guidance and resolutions for complex employee relations issues and supporting collective labour relations to prepare documentation for Works council and is an expert on working effective and collaborative with Trade Unions.
The ideal candidate will bring both legal expertise and practical HR experience to support the business in ensuring legal compliance and fostering a positive workplace culture.
As the Senior Employee Relations Manager, you will ensure the successful delivery of all the Employee Relations team’s operational activities, including timely and complex case management, policies, compliance and governance of ER processes and procedures.
Reporting to and supported by the NL HR-Director. You will ensure all ER team activity is delivered in a timely and efficient manner, using a commercial and supportive mindset to ensure the team appropriately mitigates ER related risks, activities are well planned for and the team are fully supported to deliver requirements.
As part of the role, you will also support the collective labour relations, working with Works Council and interacting with Trade Unions to keep and develop a positive and trustworthy work environment where employees are heard and can develop themselves.
You will also ensure that all ER advice and guidance provided by the ER team is timely and pragmatic, with demonstrated experience in proactive process improvement. You will partner the HR Business Partnering team to identify trends through the casework to support a proactive approach at prevention of ER issues across the business. You will ensure your primary focus is to support the team and its delivery and maintain the credibility and reputation of the ER team in all that you do.
Key Responsibilities of Senior Employee Relations Manager
- Strategic ER Leadership:Lead the ER function, providing strategic guidance to senior management on employee relations issues, and ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations.
- Collaborate closely with HR business partners providing consistent specialist advice and guidance in line with Verisure’s HR policies and processes across the full breadth of ER.
- Ensure that our organisation adheres to all relevant employment laws and regulations by keeping up to date with employment legislation and employee relationship trends and support the development of ER/HR function.
- Support HR Director on managing collective labour relations with Works Council and Trade union, being capable to represent Verisure in those interactions.
- Develop and implement policies and practices that promote compliance across all levels.
- Delivering end-to-end process improvement, in partnership with relevant stakeholders and leveraging technology, in support of the transformation of our HR Function.
- Being the point of escalation and taking ownership of complex employee relations casework, such as Disciplinary or Whistleblowing complaints.
- Supporting the preparation of case documentation and employment tribunal reports and case files.
- Design and facilitate training programs for managers on effective employee relations strategies, focusing on handling processes and navigating difficult conversations. Empower leaders with the tools they need to foster positive employee interactions.
- Establish best practices, processes, and policies that enhance the employee experience and support organizational goals.
- Serve as a key resource for employees and managers on employee relations matters, providing expert advice and support to resolve issues proactively and effectively.
- Identifying risks, ensuring timelines and cost impacts are managed.
- Management of long-term absences and Occupational Health referrals.
- Facilitate the creation and management of data to be able to report on ER metrics and to track our key measures of success.
- Utilising ER data to inform decision making and to identify opportunities to drive continuous improvement.
Experiences and Qualifications
- Experience as a qualified employment councelof at least 6 years, including training with a top-tier law firm in the NL, followed by in-house roles ideally focused on the Dutch employment law and ER management.
- Significant previous ER experience, with sound knowledge of employment law and developing ER practice within NL, together with a commercially focused, pragmatic approach to resolving business issues.
- Ability to work on high-pressure topics and manage potential conflicts while maintaining a focus on effective resolution and achievement of business priorities.
- The ability to advise, coach and upskill our HRBPs and managers as you advise and coach them through complex ER issues.
- A collaborative approach to delivering shared success, both when working within our own team and with wider stakeholders.
- A growth mindset that sees challenges as opportunities, and a passion to find a resolution through partnership and influence.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills in both Dutch and English.
