Hierbij de JD:  Job description: Senior Python Engineer for Sponsored Products
The client is proud to introduce our cutting-edge retail media platform, a collaboration between our company and our esteemed technology partner. We are on the lookout for a Senior Python Engineer with data science affinity, who will play a pivotal role in scaling our in-house retail media platform across Europe. Our primary focus is to enable our European brands to succeed with retail media by helping them craft compelling business propositions using our technology platform.
 
About – ad-tech
Within the platform for customer technology (responsible for all customer facing digital products, etc.) resides the cluster ad-tech. In this cluster we are developing an advertisement technology suite that will be used by teh client and all other brands within HQ, to reach their targets within retail media.
 
We are building technology to sell advertisements to suppliers, agencies (covering several suppliers), and other interested companies, that will be published on our communication channels. Think of:  DOOH (digital screens in the stores showing video content), Display banners (showing banners on the website and in the app) but also instore communication (for example: stickers and wobblers in the aisles) and Sponsored Products (ads triggered by keywords on the search pages of our website and app).  
 
About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Python Engineer to join our innovative Sponsored Product Team within the Adtech department. Our sponsored product solution is live in various online supermarkets across Europe. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing new features, maintaining, and enhancing our recommendation algorithm. Additionally, you will be responsible for the DevOps aspects of the data science services that power our algorithm, ensuring seamless integration and operation of supporting services.  
You will work in a highly professional team with a Python Data Scientist, 2 backend Developers and 1 QA.  
 
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement new features for our sponsored product solution.
Maintain and improve the recommender algorithm to enhance relevance and performance.
Manage the DevOps lifecycle of data science services, ensuring high availability and scalability.
Conduct analyses and generate reports to support business decisions and provide actionable insights.
Continuously monitor and optimize system performance.
Collaborate with the QA Engineer to ensure that new features are thoroughly tested and meet high-quality standards before release.
Guarantee high quality software, which goes beyond development and covers the test pyramid with decent test automation.  

What you bring to the table
Proven experience in Data Science and DevOps
Strong background and essential experience in python development in the area of data science.  
Interest in recommender/relevance models (experience not a must)
Experience in the field of retail is appreciated
Strong communication skills and a supportive attitude towards team and stakeholders  
You care about the wellness of the complete product. Not only creating new functionalities, but you understand the value of providing ongoing support, troubleshooting, observability and code quality.

Teamplayer. Understands and has experience in working in teams.  
Experience with working in agile/scrum environments
Test Automation & Code Quality: Affinity with implementing and maintaining test strategies, such as unit tests and integration tests, to ensure the reliability and quality of our solutions.
 
One day at HQ per week to meet the team and stakeholders in real life is a must (Tuesday). An additional day is welcome (Thursday)
 
Familiarity with the following technologies is a plus:  
Kafka
MongoDB, postgress
Experience with microservices architecture is a plus
Knowledge of Kubernetes is a plus
