Volledige vacaturetekst

For the Bright Renewablesengineering department we are looking for interns! The following internships / graduation assignments are available. Apply using the apply button and select the (graduation)internshipyou are interested in.

The internships on this page are:

1: Biogas Upgrader Combined Pre-treatment skid.
2: Biogas Upgrader High SC Membrane Systems.

1 Biogas Upgrader Combined Pre-treatment skid

Suitable for Chemical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Sustainable Energy

Bright delivers biogas upgrading systems, in these systems methane and carbon dioxide are separated using membrane technology. Thereby, the methane quality is enriched for injection in the natural gas grid (if required liquefaction is also possible). Furthermore, technology for the capture and liquefaction of CO₂ are also delivered. One of the next developments for Bright is the utilization of the captured CO₂ for production of renewable methanol.

In this internship, you will contribute to the detailed engineering and design of a combined pre-treatment skid—including cooling and filtration units—for Bright’s biogas upgrader systems. These systems are compact and containerized, designed to deliver high-efficiency gas separation in limited space. The focus of your work will be on developing an integrated pre-treatment module that ensures optimal gas quality before membrane separation, while minimizing footprint, costs, and energy use. Using SolidWorks, you will design and refine layout concepts, select appropriate components, and develop innovative space-saving solutions to support the next generation of high-performance, compact biogas upgrading units.

Your tasks:
  • Understanding the current membrane based biogas upgrader;

  • Conceptualize all individual components;

  • Build several concepts in Solidworks;

  • Make a detailed pro & cons argumentation to find the optimal 3D-concept.

2 Biogas Upgrader High SC Membrane Systems

Suitable for Chemical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Sustainable Energy

Bright delivers biogas upgrading systems, in these systems methane and carbon dioxide are separated using membrane technology. Thereby, the methane quality is enriched for injection in the natural gas grid (if required liquefaction is also possible). Furthermore, technology for the capture and liquefaction of CO₂ are also delivered. One of the next developments for Bright is the utilization of the captured CO₂ for production of renewable methanol.

In this internship, you will further develop high-selectivity-capacity (high SC) membrane systems for Bright’s next-generation biogas upgrader units. These advanced membranes enable highly efficient gas separation, and your role will focus on integrating them into compact, containerized solutions optimized for performance and scalability. Using SolidWorks, you will design and iterate system layouts, explore innovative configurations, and evaluate component integration, all with the goal of maximizing separation efficiency, space utilization, and energy performance in high SC membrane-based upgrading systems.

Your tasks:
  • Understanding the current membrane based biogas upgrader;

  • Conceptualize all individual components;

  • Build several concepts in Solidworks;

  • Make a detailed pro & cons argumentation to find the optimal 3D-concept.

Who are you?

  • BSc / MSc in Chemical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Sustainable Energy;

  • Interested in sustainable energy technology;

  • Interest in modelling of dynamical systems;

  • Plan-minded and independent worker.

What do we offer?
  • Working with technology pioneers of the energy transition;

  • Minimum wage based on 40 hours per week for interns with an EU working license

  • Lots of responsibility and room for own initiatives;

  • Professional support, guidance and insights;
