The Project Engineer is responsible for managing the technical aspects of this high-value construction project. This includes overseeing the design process, coordinating planning stages, and ensuring that all engineering activities align with safety regulations, quality standards, and the project’s functional requirements.

For this international cold storage and freezing facility in Urk, the Project Engineer plays a key role in bridging the gap between concept and execution. You will work closely with architects, structural and MEP engineers, and other specialists to ensure the project is delivered to the highest standards of technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

• Design Management: Oversee the development and integration of technical designs, ensuring compliance with client requirements, Dutch building codes, and international standards. Coordinate input from architects, structural engineers, MEP consultants, and cold storage system suppliers.
• Project Planning: Develop and manage detailed engineering schedules. Ensure alignment of technical planning with overall project timelines, resource allocations, budgets, and risk assessments.
• Contract Administration: Support the procurement and contracting process. Ensure engineering-related contract terms are fulfilled, manage technical documentation, and facilitate design revisions in coordination with stakeholders.
• Coordination: Act as a central point of contact between design teams, suppliers, consultants, contractors, clients, and regulatory authorities. Lead technical coordination meetings and ensure smooth information flow across all disciplines.
• Quality Assurance: Monitor construction progress from a technical perspective. Implement quality control protocols, verify compliance with design specifications, and resolve on-site technical issues.
• Post-Construction: Oversee commissioning activities, including system testing and inspections. Ensure all systems — particularly cooling, freezing, and energy infrastructure — are functioning as designed before handover. Prepare technical documentation for operation and maintenance.

We are looking for a Project Engineer with:

• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role;
• Degree in engineering;
• Fluent in English.
