Job Description

For our Animal Health location Boxmeer, we are currently recruiting a Director Manufacturing (Inactivated Vaccines & Pharmaceuticals)

Welcome to our team

Our Boxmeer site is part of our international Animal Health network and produces and packages veterinary medicines for the global market. The production organization in Boxmeer consists of several Integrated Process Teams (IPTs) and Centers of Excellence (CoEs). Within the IPT Inactivated Vaccines & Pharmaceuticals (IVP), inactivated sterile vaccines and pharmaceuticals are produced in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) regulations. The IPT currently employs around 170 employees, organized into three teams within Manufacturing, as well as dedicated groups for Improvement and Maintenance & Reliability (M&R). In response to the growing demand for animal vaccines and pharmaceuticals, as well as the imminent introduction of new products, we recently announced the expansion of our production capabilities. This expansion will involve the construction of a new facility (100 employees) in Boxmeer, specifically designed for the formulation and filling of inactivated vaccines and pharmaceuticals for animals.

Tasks and responsibilities

Reporting into the Plant Manager and as part of the Boxmeer Site Leadership Team, you hold overall responsibility for managing and controlling the IPT Inactivated Vaccines & Pharmaceuticals, ensuring an uninterrupted compliant and safe supply while optimizing operational efficiency. A critical aspect of your role will be to oversee the transfer of new products to the IPT, ensuring their seamless integration into the production process. Additionally, you will play a key role in the completion of the new build start up and the significant ramp up of capacity to meet the current solid growth of the franchise whilst maintaining its excellent underlying supply performance and building the team to support the future growth. Once operational ready, you will proactively lead and manage the end-to-end performance, taking overall responsibility for all commercial production ensuring all activities are conducted in a manner commensurate with company policies and strategy and with adherence to appropriate cost control to meet demand and designated efficiencies.

Your profile

  • Degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, Engineering or relevant Science and or business subject.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in more than one functional area, such as Manufacturing Operations, Quality Operations, Technical Operations, Manufacturing Technical Support, Engineering preferably in a Pharmaceutical Manufacturing organization.
  • Proven ability to lead operational excellence initiatives that optimize manufacturing performance and drive cost efficiency through Lean methodologies, process standardization, and strategic resource management.
  • Action-driven mentality combined with excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven track record of building high-performing teams and developing talent.
  • Excellent command of the English language, oral and written.
