We’re looking for a freelance Senior Information Security Officer to support one of our clients in strengthening their security posture.
In this role, you’ll lead the implementation of the information security strategy by developing robust policies, managing risks, and engaging with key stakeholders across the organization.
You’ll also take a hands-on approach to technical security operations, including PKI management, threat hunting, and vulnerability management. This position is ideal for a proactive and experienced security generalist ready to take on a dynamic and impactful challenge.
Responsibilities:
- Apply broad security expertise in a hands-on role
- Manage risks across a diverse IT supplier and partner landscape
- Strengthen third-party risk management processes
- Oversee and maintain PKI in a complex environment
- Secure and monitor the AWS infrastructure
- Conduct proactive threat hunting
- Lead vulnerability assessments and remediation efforts
- Implement and manage security tools and technologies
- Deliver security training and awareness programs
- You must have 6–10 years of experience in information security roles
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or Security or a related field
- Strong knowledge of cryptography, incident response, and vulnerability management
- Experience with AWS cloud security
- Hands-on experience with PKI management
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CISM, CISSP)
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder collaboration
- Ability to bridge technical and business perspectives
- Fluent in Dutch and English
- Start date: early July, with flexibility to work 4 or 5 days per week
- Assignment runs through the end of 2025
- Flexible working hours with a hybrid setup (2 days in-office)
- Competitive hourly rate ranging from €100 to €115
