As the Administration and Communication Assistant at Graduate School WIMEK in Wageningen, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our small team. Your strong organizational skills will be essential in ensuring smooth internal workflows and effective communication within our team as well as with PhD candidates, staff, and colleagues within our graduate school.

This position is for 24 till 32 hours per week.

Your duties and responsibilities
You will be responsible for the logistical, organizational, financial, and communication-related aspects of the research school’s activities, especially those related to PhD courses and PhD candidate administration. Your duties and responsibilities include:

  • Administrative support for PhD course organization, including registrations, website updates, logistics, finances and archiving
  • Office tasks, including managing WIMEK emails
  • Administrative tasks related to PhD registration, monitoring progress and issuing diplomas
  • Assisting with communication and PR tasks, including the development and maintenance of promotional materials
Your qualities

You are a reliable, detail-oriented professional with proven strong planning, organizational and communication skills.

You also possess:

  • A proactive, accurate, and independent approach to your work and the flexibility to manage multiple tasks
  • Experience with project-based work and communication/PR
  • Experience in budgeting and financial administration
  • Affinity with working in an international, intercultural academic setting
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • And knowledge of Dutch is a plus for this position
In our international working environment, there is an increasing amount of communication in English. For this position a B2 of English is required.

You will work here
You will work with the Wageningen Institute for Environment and Climate Research (WIMEK). WIMEK is one of the six Graduate Schools at Wageningen University. The team consists of the WIMEK executive secretary, the head of the WIMEK PhD program, 3 course coordinators, and the transdisciplinary research coordinator.  The team is located in the GAIA building on the Wageningen campus.

WUR welcomes applications from international candidates. Such candidates may be eligible for an “orientationyear” in the Netherlands or a visa as a “knowledge migrant”.

As for your contract, we initially offer a one-year contract that can be extended - if possible within (company) organizational circumstances and with good performance.
