Are you ready to ensure timely, cost-effective, and reliable transportation of goods across Europe?
As a Transport Planner in the FMCG sector, you will play a vital role in coordinating and optimising transport operations. Based in Amsterdam, this temporary position requires expertise in logistics systems, including SAP S4HANA, to ensure efficient supply chain processes.
Description
- Plan and schedule transportation activities in line with supply and delivery requirements.
- Coordinate with 3PL partners, carriers, customs brokers, and warehouses to ensure on-time delivery of goods.
- Optimize transport routes, loads, and costs while maintaining high service levels.
- Monitor transport performance and proactively resolve exceptions or delays.
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance, including preparing export/import instructions per country-specific flows.
- Collaborate with Supply Planning, Customer Service, and Logistics teams for alignment.
- Contribute to transport-related projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Support sustainability goals by optimizing CO₂ emissions and transport modes.
Profile
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in transport planning or logistics.
Language Skills:
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Problem solver with a proactive mindset.
- Able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Functional Skills:
- Solid understanding of European transport operations and Incoterms.
- Familiarity with shipment documentation and compliance such as export declarations, T1/T2 documentation, CMRs, and packing lists.
- Knowledge of transport cost structures and carrier performance metrics.
- Experience coordinating with external logistics providers.
Tools:
- Experience with Transport Management Systems (TMS), such as SAP
- Strong skills in Excel and transport tracking tools.
