The Role
This role involves working closely with packaging teams to introduce new products, improve materials, and solve technical issues on the production line. You’ll lead projects, support daily operations, and help ensure packaging processes run smoothly and meet regulatory standards. It’s a hands-on, cross-functional role that combines problem-solving with long-term innovation.
Responsibilities
Lead new product introductions (NPIs) into packaging lines, including testing, characterization, and analysis.
Evaluate and implement new packaging materials in collaboration with the product development team.
Monitor and analyze packaging processes to identify and resolve performance issues.
Troubleshoot complex problems related to equipment, materials, or process inefficiencies.
Write technical protocols and reports for testing, validation, and regulatory compliance.
Manage multiple packaging projects, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.
Present packaging improvements and innovations to cross-functional teams.
Support regulatory inspections and provide documentation or technical input when needed.
Collaborate with teams across engineering, quality, manufacturing, validation, and supply chain.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (or related field) with at least 5 years of experience in packaging, preferably in a regulated industry like pharmaceuticals.
Proven track record in new product introductions, packaging material evaluation, and technical project leadership.
Strong problem-solving skills with experience troubleshooting complex process, equipment, or material issues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead or collaborate across cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, EMEA) and participation in inspections or audits is a strong advantage.
