A growing Information Security team within a European organization is seeking a Technical Information Security Officer. This is a key role for someone excited by the opportunity to shape the future of security operations, and work across a wide range of technologies and regulatory landscapes.

You’ll join a newly established team of six within the broader Risk & Compliance function, reporting into the Chief Risk Officer. The team is focused on advancing the organization’s cyber resilience across all areas of the business and driving a strong security culture.

• Assess and challenge security controls for effectiveness and policy compliance
• Support risk mitigation by advising on control design, system security, and DevSecOps practices
• Collaborate with senior officers to review technical risk assessments and security architecture
• Monitor and report on cybersecurity KPIs and KRIs, escalating issues as needed
• Validate control testing results and suggest improvements based on threat intel and incident trends
• Apply regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, DORA, ISO 27001, NIST) to technical environments
• Review major incidents to ensure root causes are addressed and follow-up actions are taken
• Contribute to incident response planning and simulation exercises
• Support security awareness and training initiatives
• Mentor first-line teams on secure practices and risk-based decisions

• Degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 3–5 years in information security, ideally within corporate or financial services
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity, risk management, and frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, DORA, GDPR)
• Certifications like CISSP, CISM, CCSK, or AZ-500 are a plus
• Technical know-how in IT environments—networks, IAM, endpoints, and cloud (especially Azure)
• Practical experience with cloud security, including posture management and identity federation
• Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the confidence to challenge the status quo
• Driven to improve processes and boost efficiency
• Self-organized, with the ability to learn from and collaborate with senior team members
• Fluent in English; Dutch, German, or French is a plus
• Strong communicator, both written and verbal
• Willingness to travel occasionally within Europe
