About Our Client
Our client is a leading global biopharmaceutical manufacturer, with a state-of-the-art production facility in Leiden. Known for producing high-quality biologics across a wide range of therapeutic areas, the organization operates within a highly regulated GMP environment.
Role Description:
As an HSE Supervisor – Engineering & Construction, you will focus on ensuring safety procedures are followed on-site during engineering and construction projects. You will act as a technical safety expert, improve safety culture, and supervise contractors and workers during the execution phase of projects at Leiden.
Responsibilities:
EHS Specialist:
- Oversee and improve safety systems (Permit to Work, LOTOTO, Hoisting, etc.)
- Lead safety risk assessments and incident investigations
- Coach and develop team members on safety culture
- Support audits (ISO 14001, J&J EHS audits)
- Provide safety training and guidance
Construction Supervisor:
- Supervise daily construction and project activities
- Manage teams, subcontractors, and suppliers on-site
- Ensure safety compliance and proper permits
- Monitor quality and progress of construction tasks
- Solve on-site problems and communicate with stakeholders
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or related field
- 7+ years in construction management or civil engineering
- Strong knowledge of ISO standards (ISO 14001)
- Experience in complex, multi-level organizations
- Good leadership, time management, and communication skills
- Safety certification (MVK or equivalent) is preferred
