Are you as passionate about food as we are? Then join our team as Executive Chef at Apollo Hotel Amsterdam! As our Executive Chef, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the kitchen team. You’ll lead our brigade with confidence and act as both a coach and motivator. With genuine enthusiasm, you’ll share your knowledge of ingredients and cooking techniques when guests show interest. Working closely with our Food & Beverage Manager, you’ll form the culinary heart of the hotel.

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Independent management and leadership of the entire kitchen team, as well as responsibility for smooth service operations
  • Quality assurance and control, guidance, and training of all employees, apprentices and trainees
  • Organization of purchasing and inventory management
  • Creation of menus and promotions for all outlets
  • Organization and implementation of all hygiene and safety standards (HACCP)
  • Optimization of kitchen department productivity
  • Shift scheduling and vacation
  • Performing and overseeing employee trainings regarding quality and safety standards, as well as staff development

WHO ARE YOU?

  • You have at least 10 years working in the kitchen
  • You have at least 3yrs of experience being an Executive Chef
  • You thrive on cooking, managing a team, and being the driving force that connects the group.
  • You’re experienced in organizing and executing banqueting events.
  • You’re a true professional — a certified trainer/mentor (Leermeester) is a plus.
  • You’re capable of making strategic decisions and planning accordingly.
  • You bring strong product knowledge, are familiar with HACCP, and you’re both creative and proactive.
  • You understand the importance of menu engineering and profitability.
  • You have a refined culinary eye for detail and presentation.
  • You’re flexible with working hours (to be discussed) and can adapt to the dynamic nature of hotel/restaurant operations.
  • You speak both Dutch and English.
