Over het bedrijf
Volledige vacaturetekst
We’re a team of five, a few months in, building a platform to monitor and control energy assets across the Netherlands. Think batteries, solar panels, charging stations. No legacy code. No "this is how we’ve always done it." Just a greenfield project with all the freedom and chaos that comes with starting fresh.
We write Python that will eventually control real infrastructure. Yes, actual power flowing through our customers' grids. For real-time analytics we use ClickHouse, because it’s fast, reliable, and built for this kind of work. And since retrofitting security is a nightmare, we’re doing it right from day one.
Your work will have real impact. You’ll help solve grid congestion and make the energy transition happen faster. You won’t be migrating old systems, but working with modern tech in a small team where your choices shape the product. Everyone here cares deeply about building something that matters. We want to work with people who feel the same. And yes, we value a good work-life balance. On-call will only come once we’re actually operating critical infrastructure.
- Greenfield project with all the fun and chaos that brings
- Writing Python that will eventually control real infrastructure (yes, actual power flowing through the grid of our customers)
- ClickHouse for real-time analytics because we need something fast and reliable
- Building it right the first time because retrofitting security is a nightmare
- Monday: Design how to store millions of energy measurements efficiently
- Tuesday: SQL query optimization because the monitoring team needs faster Grafana dashboards
- Wednesday: Team day in Utrecht office, sprint planning, architecture discussions, whiteboarding sessions
- Thursday: Code review, argue about async vs sync (in a good way)
- Friday: Figure out why our solar inverters don't send data during the night breaking our pipelines :)
- Built key operational systems for 5+ years (and have the war stories)
- Actually used ClickHouse in production (or can convince us you'll figure it out fast)
- Python skills beyond "I can write scripts", we're talking type system mastery and performance optimization
- SQL that can calculate 15-minute rolling averages for 10,000s measurements without OOMing ClickHouse
- Security paranoia (in a healthy way)
- Ability to push back on requirements that don't make sense
- Strong opinions loosely held, we debate then commit
- Everyone deploys to production in week one
- We value clear communication over clever code
