The Role

As an Electrical Engineer plays a key role in designing, implementing, and managing electrical systems within pharmaceutical production environments. This hands-on position focuses on ensuring compliance with cGMP and biosafety standards while supporting project execution, contractor coordination, and technical documentation. The engineer works independently on electrical projects and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement electrical systems for pharmaceutical and cleanroom environments.

• Ensure compliance with cGMP, biosafety, and relevant electrical regulations.

• Support drafting of User Requirement Specifications (URS) for electrical installations.

• Prepare, issue, and assess quotation requests and manage contractors.

• Supervise and coordinate mono-disciplinary (electrical) project execution.

• Review and negotiate change orders and technical proposals.

• Maintain clear documentation of technical decisions and project records.

• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines such as HVAC, architecture, and cleanroom design.

• Provide input on sustainable and efficient electrical solutions.

• Ensure safety standards and operational reliability are met throughout project phases.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher professional education (HBO/HBO+), preferably in Electrical Engineering (HTS) or HIT; VCA-VOL certification required.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in executing projects in pharmaceutical or food production environments, with knowledge of cGMP and biosafety regulations. 

• Proficient in designing electrical systems, managing quotations, assessing change orders, and coordinating contractors or external engineering firms; basic AutoCAD skills required.

• Strong understanding of relevant legislation, standards, and structured documentation practices; ability to work independently on mono-disciplinary projects with minimal supervision.

• Affinity with cleanroom construction, HVAC, architectural aspects, and sustainable design; experience with decontamination systems (e.g., hydrogen peroxide); capable of drafting engineering and construction contracts.
