You mainly collect commercial waste, paper, and cardboard from clients such as supermarkets, offices, bakeries, and campsites. The routes change daily but always stay within your local area. Together with your colleague, you make sure the waste is collected efficiently and responsibly, ready to be properly recycled. You regularly interact with customers and enjoy a friendly chat. Thanks to your strong knowledge of the routes, you know exactly where each container is located. While the role involves independent tasks, you’ll always be on the truck with a teammate.

What does a typical workday look like?

Start your day with a coffee and go over the route with your colleague and the planner
Perform a quick vehicle check and head to your first location
Empty waste containers into the compactor truck throughout your route
Take turns driving and loading with your colleague
Drop off the collected waste at a depot or processing center at scheduled times
Check in with other teams at the end of your shift to offer assistance if needed
Return to the depot in Amsterdam and wrap up your day

You typically start between 6:30 and 7:00 AM and finish between 3:00 and 5:00 PM, depending on the route. You’ll work Monday through Friday—meaning your weekends are free.

You are a dependable and collaborative driver with a can-do attitude
You possess a valid Category C driving license, including Code 95 and a current tachograph card
You’re available to work between 32 and 40 hours per week
You thrive in a team environment and take initiative to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently
You have a solid command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written
You live within 30 km of Amsterdam or in the surrounding areas such as Utrecht, Hoofddorp, Haarlem, Zaandam, Purmerend, or Almere
