One of the responsibilities of the Software Engineering Department within our Naval Engineering unit is the development of Combat & Information Management Systems for navy vessels and their integration with sensor and weapons systems. These complex systems incorporate advanced solutions in the field of information processing, information management, user interaction and sensor and weapons control. As such, our software offers essential support for missions ranging from combating piracy to defense against long-range missiles.

For its Naval Infrastructure Engineering team, Thales (Hengelo) is looking for a talented

SECURITY ARCHITECT

with a passion for software security architecture and the ambition to advance his or her career within a high-tech environment.

About the job

As a Security Architect, you will be responsible for defining, implementing, and overseeing the security architecture for Thales' products and solutions, specifically within the Combat Management Systems domain. This role demands comprehensive security compliance throughout the development lifecycle by interfacing with cyber, project, development teams, and the product design authority.

Key Responsibilities

• Security Architecture Design:
  • Develop and integrate security requirements into product designs.
  • Identify and mitigate security risks proactively.
• Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to security regulations and standards.
  • Regularly update security practices to align with regulatory changes.
• Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work with cyber and development teams to implement security protocols.
  • Incorporate security requirements into project plans.
  • Collaborate with the Product Design Authority on security compliance.
• Security Analysis and Improvement:
  • Conduct security analysis to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Implement security enhancements based on analysis and feedback.
  • Stay updated with the latest security trends and technologies.
• Support and Guidance:
  • Provide security guidance to development teams.
  • Assist in resolving security issues during development and post-deployment.
  • Conduct security training and awareness programs.

About you

RelevantExperiences:

• Knowledge of security architecture frameworks and best practices.
• Experience with security modeling tools and methods.
• Strong understanding of business context for prioritizing security constraints.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, TOGAF) are a plus.

You hold a bachelor or master degree in computer science, IT service management or comparable. We expect you to possess fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
