Location: Heineken the Base, Schiphol Boulevard 800, Schiphol (Amsterdam)

The internship

As an international beer company, Heineken transports ~650,000 shipments within Europe.  Heineken Global Procurement (HGP) contracts more than 500 logistics providers around 56 production sides, cider mills, and breweries. The goods transported include raw materials for brewing, such as hops and barley, packaging materials, such as empty bottles or cans, as well as finished products.

As a European Transportation Tenders Support Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting sourcing activities across EUR region. It will help HEINEKEN to optimize regional logistics cost. This position requires a strategic thinker with a passion for logistics optimization and a strong ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To learn and understand existing tendering process across transportation category: lanes, Suppliers, HEINEKEN requirements, etc.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align on tenders execution.
  • Propose and implement improvements to the process, cost optimization.

The terms of employment

  • Preferred starting date is Sep ’25 (exact start in consultation)
  • The internship is fulltime (in consultation also 4 days a week possible)
  • The duration of the internship is 4/6 months (in consultation with your internship supervisor)
  • You are registered at an educational institution
  • It is a practice-oriented internship, but thesis opportunities can be discussed.
  • You will be based in Schiphol (close to Amsterdam)
  • You will receive an internship fee of €650 (WO)
  • You will enjoy 2 vacation days per month (based on fulltime)
  • If you do not have a student OV product, your commuting expenses will be fully reimbursed

 

The start of your internship

Together with a diverse group of interns from different departments, you will start your internship at HEINEKEN. Together you will be introduced to the organization. Don’t miss the drinks on Thursday to relax with your colleagues over a beer and some snacks.

 

The unique you!

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field.
  • Interest in road freight or transportation management is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to drive continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in data analysis.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and departments.

Conditions of HEINEKEN

  1. You are enrolled at an educational institution.
    1. In the case of non-EU nationality, you must be registered as an intern with a Dutch educational institution, from which we receive proof of enrollment for the current academic year from you.
    2. In case of EU nationality, you may also be registered as an intern at educational institutions outside the EU.
  2. Living in the Netherlands during internship (HEINEKEN does not facilitate housing).
