Model the ductile to brittle transition in steel

Job description

You must have a PhD that includes modelling ductile failure in steels. You must have developed a VUMAT that includes the element erosion technique. You must have developed a thermodynamically consistent plasticity model that includes thermal softening, strain rate hardening, and damage softening.

Faculty Mechanical Engineering

Conditions of employment 

  • Duration of contract is 16,5 months.
  • A job of 38-40 hours per week. 

Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities. The TU Delft offers a customisable compensation package, discounts on health insurance, and a monthly work costs contribution. Flexible work schedules can be arranged.
