WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Finance team provides reliable and timely management information that lays the foundation to drive business decisions at Optiver, while maintaining control over our assets. The team consists of sixteen finance professionals who are responsible for accounting, finance operations, regulatory reporting and FP&A. Although our team members have dedicated focus areas, we work together to achieve our goals, supporting each other on a daily basis.

We are seeking a financial accountant who has hands-on experience with month-end closing processes and is eager to drive financial close improvements. In this role you’ll be responsible for:

• Monthly closing processes including preparation of journal entries, accruals and reconciliations
• Collaboration with other departments (Procurement, HR, Tax) to source information and understand variances and deliver insights to our FP&A team
• Taking ownership of the accuracy and integrity of balance sheet and P&L accounts in a data-driven manner
• Assisting with preparation of tax accounting entries
• Driving improvements in financial processes using automation tools
• Support global finance initiatives and control enhancements
• Preparing parts of the financial statements in accordance with Dutch GAAP and IFRS

WHO YOU ARE

• You hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a related field
• You bring 3-5 years of accounting or audit experience
• You understand financial close processes and proactively look for ways to improve
• You are open to learning new skills and curious to work with automation tools (Python, Alteryx, Power Query) and data analytics (Tableau)
• You’re able to balance multiple priorities and work together in a team
• Your communication style is clear and collaborative and you're comfortable working with international teams in English
