As Medior Data Scientist, you help bring this mission to life, by building intelligent solutions that directly improve customer journeys, operational efficiency, and commercial performance.

You’ll work on generative AI use cases (like chatbots and voicebots using LLMs) and predictive modeling (for marketing and churn prevention). You’ll translate business needs into data-driven actions that impact millions of users, all while helping Odido become a truly AI-first telecom provider.

You’ll operate within a multidisciplinary environment, creating proof of concepts, scaling solutions into production together with data engineers, and translating complex insights into understandable language. From Natural Language Processing to deep customer analytics, you’ll help turn AI into impact.

Please note:

The salary range for this position is between €4,318 and €5,397 gross per month (based on full-time employment).

For candidates requiring a Highly Skilled Migrant (HSM) visa, Dutch immigration law sets a minimum gross monthly salary that depends on age. For those aged 30 and above, this legal threshold currently exceeds the upper end of our medior salary scale.

The Role

You will join a growing, international team of data scientists and engineers within the Information Technology (IT) department. The Data Science team works across all business domains: Customer Operations, Mass Market, Enterprise, Finance, and Network.

You’ll have the freedom to shape your projects, the trust to deploy to production, and the satisfaction of seeing your work deliver value in real-time. Whether you're optimizing chatbot efficiency or refining a churn model, your work will reach thousands, even millions of users.

Your responsibilities:

• Build and improve generative AI solutions (LLMs, chatbots, voicebots, agentic workflows) for internal and external users

• Design predictive models that inform commercial campaigns and reduce customer churn

• Translate business needs into machine learning use cases and deliver production-ready solutions

• Work in sprints with cross-functional teams (product owners, engineers, business analysts)

• Present insights and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Champion clean code practices, model monitoring, and continuous improvement

• Drive automation and containerization (e.g., using Docker) to enable scalable deployment

• Stay ahead of AI trends and bring new ideas into the team

Must-Have Skills & Qualifications 

1. Education & experience
    • Master’s (WO) degree in AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, or related field
    • 3–5 years of relevant working experience

2. Generative AI foundations
    • Hands-on experience with building GenAI products using Python and GitHub
    • Familiarity with LLMs is a must

3. Strong coding & architecture
    • Solid Python skills and ability to write clean, production-grade code
    • Experience with Docker for containerization

4. AI frameworks & tooling
    • Familiarity with Langchain, LlamaIndex, Agentic AI, and vector databases

5. Model deployment
    • Experience deploying models on AWS and/or on-prem environments

6. Predictive modeling
    • Strong understanding of predictive modeling using Python and SQL
    • Familiarity with libraries such as TensorFlow, Keras, XGBoost, scikit-learn

7. Language & location
    • English fluency is a must; Dutch is preferred
    • Candidates must currently reside in the Netherlands

Nice-to-Haves

• Telecom industry knowledge or affinity for telecom-related processes

• Experience collaborating with Customer Operations or Marketing

• Familiarity with reinforcement learning, gradient boosting, or neural networks

• Experience presenting complex data findings to non-technical audiences
