Our client is a global coffee manufacturer operating in over 140 markets. With a legacy spanning more than 125 years, the company offers a dynamic, international work environment built on innovation, sustainability, and a passion for quality.

Currently, they are looking for an experienced Retail Sales Manager to join their Amsterdam office and lead sales efforts across the Benelux region.

Job Profile for Retail Sales Manager(Benelux)
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, ensuring alignment on processes and workflows, and guaranteeing robust market presence in assigned countries
  • Own the Retail P&L and be accountable for achieving volume, revenue, and margin targets, in close collaboration with the Finance and Credit Management teams
  • Manage the entire value chain – from defining pricing through to distributor and end-consumer product pricing, ensuring a sustainable and profitable distributor value chain
  • Develop and implement a performance-based incentive and financial support structure to align distributor efforts with strategic goals
  • Drive the execution of commercial strategies in close partnership with distributors, focusing on key enablers such as distribution, assortment, pricing, and promotions
  • Monitor internal sales KPIs (volumes, revenue) and market performance indicators, ensuring targets are met and corrective actions are taken when necessary
  • Support trade negotiations alongside distributors and the Marketing team, leveraging strong brand and category insights
  • Ensure seamless coordination between sales and marketing initiatives through active collaboration with the Marketing department
  • Work closely with Demand Planning to support accurate forecasting and informed decision-making within the monthly S&OP process
  • Lead Monthly Business Reviews with the Leadership Team, presenting current performance, alignment to objectives, and highlighting key risks and opportunities

Candidate Profile for Retail Sales Manager(Benelux)

  • Must be fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of French would be a big advantage
  • 5-8 years of experience in a similar role
  • Expertise in FMCG, preferably in the food and beverage sector (Home channel)
  • Experience with the Retail sector is a must
  • Experience in Distributor model management will be considered as a plus
  • Experience in a big, international company will be considered a plus
  • Good skills in MS Office (Excel, PPT)
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Analytical and structure-oriented mindset
