The Role
As Information Security Officer within the Business Technology Organisation (BTO), your focus is on Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Cybersecurity Awareness. Operating in the second line of defense, you act as a trusted advisor to IT teams and stakeholders, driving a security-conscious culture and strengthening organizational resilience.

You are responsible for the development, implementation, and improvement of security and continuity practices that align with TenneT’s corporate Information Security Management System (ISMS). You take ownership of training and awareness programs, ensure effective communication across the business, and contribute to a secure digital environment.

Key responsibilities:
• Act as a trusted advisor on cybersecurity and continuity topics across IT teams and the wider BTO unit.
• Lead, develop and roll out BCM strategy, plans, controls, and compliance structures across the organization.
• Design, deliver, and continuously improve cybersecurity awareness and training programs for all BTO staff.
• Serve as a BCM and cybersecurity awareness ambassador, ensuring these topics are top-of-mind across the organization.
• Organize and support BCM-related activities such as risk assessments, testing, compliance reviews, and reporting.
• Develop, implement, and monitor security policies, standards, and best practices in alignment with international frameworks.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors and lead assurance efforts within the BCM and cybersecurity domain.
• Coordinate internal communications around BCM and support leadership with clear, risk-based reporting.
• Maintain strong alignment with the corporate ISMS and ensure local execution within BTO.
• With your strategic oversight, strong communication skills, and passion for security, you directly contribute to TenneT’s resilience and long-term success.

You are a knowledgeable and approachable security professional with proven experience in Business Continuity Management and Cybersecurity Awareness. You are proactive, independent, and able to operate confidently in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment. With strong interpersonal skills and a structured mindset, you ensure that continuity and security are embedded in everything we do.

Must-haves:
• Completed university/hbo degree in Information Security, Information Technology, Business Administration or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience (5+ years) in Business Continuity Management and cybersecurity awareness, ideally in a complex, international environment.
• Proven track record in developing and delivering internal awareness/training programs and acting as a security ambassador within an organization.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT, ISO 31000, GDPR, and ITIL 4.
• Experience with cloud security, network security, and identity & access management (IAM).
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or CISA are highly valued.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; you quickly get to the heart of the matter.
• Strong analytical and documentation skills; structured in your approach to risk and compliance.
• Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Dutch and/or German is a plus.
• Willingness to travel within the Netherlands and 1 x quarter to Germany for alignment and knowledge sharing.

• Interviews: 2 rondes op locatie en/of online (in Arnhem)
• VOG dient binnen te zijn voordat een kandidaat mag starten;
• Bij indiensttreding wordt standaard een Pre Employment Screening (PES) uitgevoerd;

Screening:
• Pre-employmentscreening: Als de kandidaat mag starten bij de klant, dan zal er een pre-employmentscreening plaatsvinden. Wij sturen u op dat moment de daarvoor benodigde documenten toe. Uw kandidaat mag pas starten na afronding van de pre-employmentscreening. De VOG-aanvraag is onderdeel van de screening vanuit Magnit, de VOG dient binnen te zijn voordat de kandidaat mag starten;
• De kandidaat beschikt over een legitimatiebewijs (een paspoort of identiteitskaart), welke bij intake én op de startdatum van het contract van de kandidaat geldig is en ter controle kan worden overlegd.
